R. Stephen Hill

Currently a doctoral student in Classics at the University of Virginia, I earned an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and an MA in Classics from the University of Kentucky in 2016. I’ve also taught ancient Greek in the Polis Institute’s intensive summer courses at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce in Rome and at Ave Maria University in Florida (2012-16).

My interests include the reception of archaic and classical Greek literature, Greek religion, and the application of second language acquisition research to classical language pedagogy.
